Simchat Torah
Simchat Torah
Simchat Torah ("rejoicing in the law") is the eighth day of Sukkot. On this day, all the Torah scrolls are taken out of the ark and paraded in the synagogue. The annual reading of the Torah is completed, and the cycle is immediately renewed.
On Erev Simchat Torah, Monday 13 October at 6.00pm, join us in the Sanctuary and Valerie Jaye Hall, as we dance with the Torah Scrolls, conclude the year's Torah reading cycle and being again at B'reisheet.
On Simchat Torah morning , Tuesday 14 October at 8.00 am, we will gather on Zoom for a study session and two minutes silence dedicated to the memory of the victims of terror who died on Simchat Torah morning in 2023. We will also say Yizkor for our members' loved ones who died in the past year.

We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the land on which our synagogue stands, the land of the Gamaragal people. Many of us and our forebears have come from other lands and found our spirit of kinship with Indigenous Australians whose connection with this land preceded ours, and we recognise that connection as sacred and enduring. May we walk together toward a future of justice and healing.
