This classic Australian 1980 war drama movie, based on actual events, deals with the 1902 court martial of three Australian soldiers in South Africa - one of the first war crime prosecutions in British military history. 

It explores the Nuremberg Defence, the politics of the death penalty and the human cost of war. The film has much contemporary relevance and certainly provides great potential for interesting group discussion as it also examines colonialism and Australian/British relations at the time.

This must-see movie, available for viewing on Netflix, is directed by Australia’s Bruce Beresford. It has won no less than ten Australian Film Institute Awards and stars Australia's well-renowned actors, Bryan Brown, Jack Thompson and Edward Woodward.
