At this time, while our community is not meeting in person due to COVID-19 precautions, we are adding videos to enable you to connect with your NSTE community through prayer, Torah reading, “honours,” d’rashot, and other rituals.  Check back regularly to see what’s on offer each week or look to your email to browse our e-hatikvah newsletter.

Friday's at 6:30pm - Shabbat Live Stream

From 20 March 2020 we will be offering our Kabbalat Shabbat services via live stream. The Broadcast will start at 6:30pm via the NSTE YouTube channel.

"Pyjama Time with Rabbi Nicole!" For Families with Children under 8yrs old

Commencing 23 March - look for me and my guitar on the NSTE YouTube channel or my FaceBook page; along with Jewish stories, learning Pesach songs, saying bedtime prayers and the Shema, and hosting special friends like...(drumroll...) Sammy the Sermon Salmon! Yep - he's back :-)

Email, text, or 'friend' me if you'd like song sheets, Rabbi Nicole's Bedtime Shema, and other materials to use at home so you can sing along until you know it all by heart (sure sounds like we'll have a lot of time together over the coming months). Can't wait!!

“Virtual" Communal Seder - You Bring the Food, We’ll Bring the Mood!

2nd Night Communal Seder - Thursday 9 April, 6:00pm

Join the rabbis and your NSTE family for a 2nd Night Seder like never before!

Using Zoom (video call) to enable everyone to “gather” with us safely from home, the Rabbis will conduct the pre-meal rituals with  humour, singing, joy, and congregant participation, live from their homes! (The post-meal concluding rituals will be provided by recording). The meal itself is up to you to prepare or acquire, but you can check out “Good Food" Kosher Catering to order individual meals at click HERE.

Important: you must RSVP by Wednesday 8th April, 5pm to: in order to receive the link to access the Seder. In addition, if you’d like to do a reading or blessing during the Seder, please email Rabbi Nicole by Monday 6 April. There is no fee to attend this Communal 2nd Night Seder - “Let all who are hungry (for community) Zoom In!”

“Virtual" Pesach Services 

1st Day Pesach (morning service) & 7th Day morning chanting of the Song at the Sea

As we continue to use YouTube for our morning services, please be sure to tune in to the  NSTE YouTube channel on these holiday mornings to see our latest videos. In addition to the regular blessings and prayers, we will also have some Torah readings, as well as a member of our choir joining for the singing of Hallel.

Yizkor on Erev 7th Day Pesach - Tuesday 14 April, 6:30pm

“Zoom" in to join the rabbis and a mini-choir in prayer, reflection, and remembrance. All who are saying kaddish will have opportunity to do so with a minyan that you can see and hear. Email Rabbi Nicole for details.
