ZIMRA

In addition to the choir, North Shore Temple Emanuel boasts an accomplished vocal quartet, ZIMRA. The ensemble comprises of Judy Campbell, Jocelyn Robuck, Rabbi Gary Robuck and Mark Ginsburg.
The quartet was established in the early 1980’s, when Rabbi Robuck spent his first four years in Australia. He and his family returned to their native America for almost a decade, taking up Australian residence again in late 2003.

ZIMRA, meaning 'song', provides the music at Shabbat services from time to time, and has performed at a wide range of events since 2003, e.g. the 2007 UPJ Conference and many community concerts. Their versatility stretches from liturgical music to pop and jazz, with a specialty in music from Broadway and Tin Pan Alley.
