Visiting Our Community
Welcome to Visitors
If you would like to join us, it is recommended that you call the Office on 02 9419 7011 for information about how to find us. We can also advise you whether there is a special Shabbat evening service, such as the Shabbat Groove, which generally commences at 6pm. We are a Progressive Synagogue so you will find that families can sit together and men and women have an equal role to play in the services.
If you are observing a yartzeit, please let us know in advance, so that the name of your family member can be called before Kaddish is recited.
If you are visiting during the Festivals and do not have family and friends in Sydney with whom you can share a festival meal, please let us know and we will do our best to introduce you to a family who would be happy to welcome you to their table.
Otherwise, please introduce yourself to our shammashim so that we can welcome you appropriately and introduce you to other congregants.
If you are visiting us for the first time, you will notice that, like all synagogues in the Sydney area, we are surrounded by fences and that security services are visibly present. As part of these security measures, you may be stopped and questioned by members of our volunteer CSG group. We ask that you cooperate with the security staff and we trust that you understand why these measures are necessary.
