Shore Thing - Young Adults

Shore Thing is a group for adults in their mid 20s and 30s which aims to create a stronger sense of community through monthly activities ranging from purely social to educationally stimulating.

Shore Thing has a flair for hosting events that are easy to enjoy and hard to refuse. Past highlights include a wine-tasting trip to the Hunter Valley, a Pre-Pesach cooking class, weekend retreats, panel discussions and guest speakers.

Every second month the group holds a Shabbos Shmooze. This is an informal Shabbat dinner at which everyone contributes a vegetarian dish or dessert. Different members offer their homes for the evening. It is an excellent opportunity to celebrate Shabbat with other young like-minded people in your community. Occasionally the group also runs their own Shabbat Unplugged service before the dinner begins. Members and non-members are both very welcome to take part in our events. All events are planned and run by a voluntary committee under the guidance of our Young Adult Director, Janet Granek. Events are designed to meet the needs of the young adult community and we are always open to new ideas and suggestions.
