About the Pre- School
Welcome to the North Shore Temple Emanuel (NSTE) Preschool.
At NSTE we are committed to providing your child with a nurturing, rich learning environment with is warm, inviting and filled with wonder and delight. Our kindergarten seeks to provide a total learning experience which each child is acknowledged as having limitless potential.
Our teachers and facilities are excellent. Our teachers are highly skilled professionals who have been with the preschool for over 15 years. They provide an enthusiastic and caring atmosphere for the children. We have:
- two separate classrooms, one for 3-4 year olds and the other for 4-5 year old
- each classroom contains facilities to help stimulate the social, physical and intellectual skills of our children. Each classroom is also fully air-conditioned.
- a transition to school program to ensure that the children are prepared for primary school.
- an outside area is a safe and harmonious area, enabling the children to explore their environment or play on the play equipment and sandpit.
We value the Jewish culture and celebrate the Jewish festivals throughout the year, as we are affiliated with the North Shore Temple Emanuel. We welcome children from all cultures, religions and nationalities and seek to teach them mutual respect.
We also welcome parent involvement in the preschool. Teachers provide pictures and information of the activities of your child, so you are aware of the types of activities that your child participated in during the day – providing a great talking point for parents and children at the end of the day!
Parents also receive newsletters advising of upcoming events and projects.
As our preschool is a community based, non-profit organization which receives funding from DOCS, we have a parent committee which organizes functions and helps in the running of the preschool, such as fundraising for the preschool to provide air-conditioning.
Preschool information
Days: We offer 2 day to 5 day places, Monday to Friday
Time: Mon-Thu 9:00am-3:30pm, Fri 9:00am-3:00pm.
Extended hours: Available on request, from 8am to 6pm Monday to Thursday, and 3pm on Fridays.
School dates: Are based on the NSW schools dates (Click HERE to go to the NSW schools website), EXCEPT for end of 4 term, which finishes 1 week earlier. In 2010 we finish on the 10th December.
