Music at NSTE
The vocal quartet ZIMRA provides a different musical slant by singing at concerts, UPJ Conferences and on some Shabbat mornings, with contemporary liturgical settings.
Our popular youth choir, featured on two of the CD recordings to date, brings new life to traditional melodies at the quarterly Family Service, Sasson V'Simcha, and the Yom Kippur afternoon service each year.

The Adult Choir
The volunteer choir of NSTE was established nearly 15 years ago by Cantor Janece Cohen. Judy Campbell took over direction of the choir in 1999. That year they performed at the Jewish Arts Festival and soon recorded their first CD, "A Chanukah Cantata", a new work by American composer Shelley Olson. Since then, they have gone from strength to strength, performing at Jewish and interfaith concerts such as the World Peace Forum at Darling Harbour, Prayers for Peace at Parramatta Town Hall and an Israeli Independence Day concert at the City Recital Hall, Angel Place.
ZIMRA

In addition to the choir, North Shore Temple Emanuel boasts an accomplished vocal quartet, ZIMRA. The ensemble comprises of Judy Campbell, Jocelyn Robuck, Rabbi Gary Robuck and Mark Ginsburg.
The Youth Choir
Youth Choir at NSTE has given young members (from primary school to university) opportunities to express themselves in a contemporary musical setting. This innovative musical undertaking, directed by Choir Director Judy Campbell, creates a lovely counterbalance to the more classical repertoire of the Adult Choir.
The Youth Choir also develops and trains musical skills in young people, who possibly could join in the more advanced Adult Choir in the future.
