Mishpacha (Family): (For students and their families entering year 2)

Year 2 students begin formal Hebrew study with the all-new and massively fun Hebrew and vowel acquisition program known as: "The Aleph Bet Story" by Sarah and David Publications. A delightful, interactive and highly contemporary approach to beginners Hebrew, "The Aleph Bet Story" ensures a strong foundation for future Hebrew studies giving students the head start they need to proceed (in Year 3) with their individualized course of Hebrew study. Year 2 students also begin to work formally from the BPJE curriculum and gradually be exposed to ideas about God and spirituality, the synagogue, the Jewish life cycle, and invaluable values like Torah, tzedakah and community.

Finally, at the end of Year 2, all families will participate in Kabbalat Torah, a ceremonial event celebrating the completion of the first year course in Hebrew. Each student will also be presented with a miniature Torah scroll during Shabbat services: representative of their life-long connection to Judaism's holiest book.
