Club Ed

Club Ed (Youth Connection) (For students entering years 8-11)

The Meah program gives way to Kesher Lanoar’s Club Ed. Formal "master classes", a light meal and an informal elective are offered each term, together with occasional social activities. Students take an increasingly important role in the synagogue and win recognition when serving as a Torah reader, service leader or darshan. Students may lead youth and family services, participate in the youth choir and even lead the afternoon service at Yom Kippur in Year 8. Some may choose to become members of the congregation’s Community Support Group, help out with the Senior Citizens concert, at the Monte Fete or at some other charitable function, or perhaps take a seat at the Jews for Social Action committee table.

Junior Achievers with a mind for business can become an adjunct member of the Board of Directors and consider important issues pertaining to the governance of the shule.

Year 9 students are invited to lead services during Sukkot at which time they are recognized as b’nei emunah (a child of faith) and receive a beautiful Tanach. Through Netzer, students in Year 10 can learn valuable hadracha (leadership) skills and prepare, should they wish, for an unforgettable year spent in Israel. Year 11 students  prepare for their B’nei Torah (a child of Torah) and be recognized during the Shavuot service in May. In Year 12 we hold our final high school ceremony for our students just before their HSC exams commence; a special HSC Blessing and Dinner.
