Bar and Bat mitzvah: In preparing for Bar and Bat Mitzvah, students
build a foundation of understanding in Jewish history, values, religious
observance and liturgical Hebrew. We offer the same preparation and
opportunities, and hold the same expectations, for both boys and girls.
Preparation for Bar and Bat Mitzvah ceremonies is intellectually
challenging and spiritually rewarding. Students must be enrolled in our
program from Year 5 or an alternative arrangement must be made with the
Rabbi.
It is a requirement that the families of prospective B’nei Mitzvah
students must be members of the congregation for three years prior to
their simcha.

looking forward to another year of exciting programs and meaningful ways
to reach out to Jewish teenagers.

are sure it will offer a variety of ways to stay involved with Jewish

excursions and celebrations of the Chaggim.

students will have the opportunity to visit places of worship around
Sydney, learning about other religions and their own Jewish identities.

two years running.

(leadership training) program.
Launch 2008:
Independent projects/study in your own time Years 8-12. If you
are time restricted and can not commit to any of the previous programs
this is the pathway for you. We will help you develop your own project

of Rabbi Gary - you create your own!

Netzer Australia (Inc) is the Zionist youth movement of the Progressive
Jewish community of Australia. The movement is part of an expanding
world-wide movement, with Netzer branches in Israel, Europe, North and
South America and expanding within Australia also.
Netzer works to create a community of knowledgeable, empowered youth

identity.
Netzer’s vision is realised through education on, and personal engagement
with, Israel, progressive Judaism and the principles of Tikkun Olam
